Just want to share an experience with you all out there in quit land. Today I went to see a very dear friend of mine. Mary was going to quit with me last July, but never seemed to find the right time. Today when I went to see her, she wasn't at home anymore. Mary was in a hospice, holding on to what life she has left. She has small cell lung cancer (diagnosed in September) and has gone from a robust, cheerful, motherly type to LITERALLY a skeleton in less than 2 months. She is 39 years old. This may have been the last time I see my friend. She can no longer speak, but was able to communicate to me that she wants me to tell EVERYONE I know who smokes to quit and everyone I know who quit to keep the quit. Just passing Mary's message along. She is a wonderful person and I wish she could have met the people on the Q. Keep the Quit!

I posted that message less than a month ago. Today I had the honor of holding onto my dear friend's hand as she passed away. The night I posted that message was the last time I was able to communicate with Mary, but somehow something tells me she knows I was with her today. Just posting the message again because I know it was her dying wish to tell everyone in the world that smoking is not worth it. Please share this message with as many people as you can. For Mary. Thank you.
